Welcome to the UHN GU BioBank

The GU BioBank aims to enhance future cancer research capabilities in the areas of genomics, proteomics and epidemiology.

OUR PROGRAM »

Our program is based on collecting biospecimens at certain time points allowing for serialized collections throughout patient prognosis. Over 600,000 biospecimens have been stored to date from over 16,000 participants

CONFERENCE »

The GU BioBank annual meeting brings together technical experts, scientists, clinicians, and leaders in pharmaceutics and biotechnology for exchange of expertise and ideas through presentations and interactive sessions.

BIOSPECIMENS & DATA DIRECTORY »

The GU BioBank is constantly growing in sample size and cancer disease sites. With inception of GYN in 2011 and Thoracic in 2019, we aim to create a comprehensive Biospecimen & Data directory to aid in cutting-edge research.

QUALITY MANAGEMENT »

The Quality Management program systematically monitors and evaluates all aspects of biobanking processes to improve the quality of specimen and data for long-term sustainability. Implementation of this will improve personnel proficiency, operational efficiency, effectiveness and adaptability in biobanking.
